Tom Damon, Photography

Tom Damon has done photography for over 60 years, starting when he was in high school in Wisconsin. He worked his way through college doing weddings, portraits, and nearly all the photography for his College's newspaper, yearbook, and publicity department. Photography became mostly a personal satisfaction avocation while he pursued careers in the Air Force, at Pikes Peak Community College, and authoring textbooks. He also did commercial advertising and catalog photography from time to time. Now retired from full time employment he can spend more time creating photographic artwork using both photographic and digital techniques.

His work has been seen in travelling salons; printed in catalogs, pamphlets, brochures and flyers; published in newspapers such as the Milwaukee Journal and Chicago Tribune; and in magazines such as Natural History and Southwest Art. He received numerous awards from the Colorado Council of Camera Clubs and Pikes Peak Camera Club and is a past president of that Club. He is often asked to judge local photography competitions.

Tom is a member of the Mountain Artists Association. His photographs have been exhibited in several local galleries. One-man shows have been presented frequently at branch Libraries in Colorado Springs. His photos are found on line at gallery.me.com/tomdamon.
